The first phase of demolition on 111th Place SE will soon be upon us; local residents had a door drop and here is the flyer for more information. SDCC negotiated a phased approach to retain as many houses until absolutely necessary and place the security fence behind the properties that won’t be demolished to preserve some semblance of the neighborhood!
As East Link light rail construction progresses on 112th Ave SE and Bellevue Way, a three-month pilot project to discourage commuter traffic from using neighborhood streets south of downtown Bellevue to access Bellevue Way and the I-90 takes effect around the start of the new school year (August 31). Weekday evenings (Monday-Friday, 4-7 p.m.) turn restrictions will be placed at SE 16th St and 108th Ave SE and at SE 16th St and Bellevue Way. The pilot utilizes signs and flashing beacons to call attention to the locations where turns are restricted. More information in this flyer which will reach 1700 homes this week
or you can read more on this page on the Bellevue City website which has contact information and frequently asked questions.
NB: lots of discussion expected on NextDoor 🙂
