At a recent meeting between the East Link Committee, Sound Transit and the city, a Sound Transit attorney presented a letter that was being considered for sending to all 282 homes in our neighborhood. SDCC requested they wait (asked for two weeks) so this could be discussed by those affected. The letter offers a small payment per household to amend the CCRs [Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions] to allow light rail in our neighborhood.
After several follow-up discussions including a lengthy one with a respected land-use attorney, coordinating efforts and informing those affected in the neighborhood is a priority. There is an upcoming newsletter and this website can also help people discuss the implications. Several options have already been proposed and I would encourage people to share their ideas.
